If you’ve not seen the insane 2007 Spanish horror flick [REC], it’s easily one of the better zombie and found footage movies out there. If you settled for the 2008 American remake Quarantine…well, then I just feel sad for you.
The movie is about to become part of a trilogy of movies with the release of [REC] 3: Genesis, and you can now see a red band trailer for the movie.
Check out the trailer and a synopsis below. And as is the case with any red band trailer, a NSFW warning is in effect…though, to be honest, it’s not really all that graphic.
It’s not often that third movies in a franchise look as bad ass as this one does. Let us hope it lives up when [REC] 3 arrives on VOD services on August 3, 2012, and in select theaters on September 7th.
SYNOPSIS
Koldo and Clara are about to celebrate the most important day of their lives: their wedding. Everything appears to be running smoothly and the bride, the groom and their families are enjoying a wonderful day in the countryside until some of the guests start showing signs of a strange illness. Before they know what’s happening, the bride and groom find themselves in the middle of a hellish ordeal, as an uncontrollable torrent of violence is unleashed on the wedding. What started off as an idyllic day quickly descends into a nightmare of the worst kind”¦
[REC] 3: GENESIS was written by Luiso Berdejo and Paco Plaza and directed by Paco Plaza.
