There’s an ocean of “reality” TV shows out there so bad they’ll cause your jaw to fall clean off your face as your eyeballs melt under the heat of your overheating brain. And the king of these exceptionally stupid shows for a long while now was undoubtedly MTV’s Jersey Shore.

The word “was” is used there with a great amount of pleasure.

It’s being reported that MTV has decided to finally do us all an incredible favor (including you fans of the show; you’ll one day appreciate the removal of this unhealthy growth from your lives) and cancel Jersey Shore.

The announcement was made five weeks before the sixth and final season of the show is set to air, allowing MTV to market the season as the last hurrah in hopes of luring in as many unmelted eyes as possible. Ratings had been consistently dropping lately…for some mysterious reason.

Even with the demise of Jersey Shore, there are unfortunately still spin-off shows and such to stomach and the other inexcusably awful programming out there. Which will become king next?

Nevertheless, when the sixth season concludes, this world will be just a little bit better a place to live.
