Doctor Who Series 7 continues as a mysterious unknown spaceship is heading to Earth in the 24th century, and ISA needs the help of the Doctor (Matt Smith). Enlisting the help of the Ponds (Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill), Queen Nefertiti (Riann Steele), and 19th century English explorer John Riddell (Rupert Graves from Steven Moffat‘s Sherlock), the Doctor also manages to drag Rory Williams’ father Brian (Mark Williams) along.
As they investigate the mysterious craft, they discover a surprise that creates more mystery than it does answers: Dinosaurs on a Spaceship…
During TARDISblend 53, we examine the new characters and organizations introduced in this episode, as well as the evolution of Amy and Rory as companions as they transition towards their departure. We also discuss the fabulous quality CGI effects used on this episode for the dinosaurs, which was quite spectacular.
Meanwhile, we dissect the interesting dichotomy and symbolism between the Doctor and his new villain, Solomon (David Bradley). We examine Steven Moffat’s approach to the longer overarching storyline across seasons, particularly to the question that should not be asked: “Doctor Who?”, and provide some Classic Doctor Who recommendations to our listeners.
All this and more on the latest TARDISblend!
Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from The Social Blend Podcast) and geek journalist Tom Cheredar, TARDISblend is a podcast that takes a look at the ongoing adventures in the Doctor Who Universe – as Matt Smith makes his journey as the Eleventh Doctor!
Interesting timeline theory Greg, I think that you’re on the money there with your backward theory.
I’m dreading episode 5 and the Pond’s “demise”, total mixed emotions., but, with the timey-wimey effect of the TARDIS, it means that the Doctor can always go back to a time to when they’re still alive??? (I think!)
If you liked Rory’s dad, you need to catch his earler funny work in the Fast Show. Totally brilliant if you like crazy British humour. Well worth a look ;) However I’m sure we’ll see him again. But you’re right, that cuppa and sarny sequence brought a lump to my throught.
I’m also a bit worried about the next episode as I’m not that keen on westerns. But the other mysterious alien doctor sounds promising. But we shall see.
How cool, fancy me starring in an episode ;) Where’s my royalties?
All the best guys TT
