Well it appears that Carrie Fisher is once again toying with the media about starring in Star Wars Episode VII. She did it earlier last November, and just yesterday we reported that she said she would be starring in the film. However the first time she said it, it came from a book signing and not from a legitimate source or press release. Her most recent fib came from a source, but not one that covers entertainment news.
Her rep clarified Fisher’s comments to CNN today, saying, “She was joking, nothing has been announced.” Based on one of her comments about Princess Leia being in an old folk’s home, it’s not surprising to hear that it was all a joke.
However, she is expressing interest to star in the film as are Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Billy Dee Williams. All have said that they were in talks but nothing has been signed.
It also may be the fact that it’s a little bit too early to sign people on roles, especially roles that have been established. Whatever the case may be, Disney will announce the roles when they find someone right.
