The Fast and Furious 6 mid-credits scene gave fans a revealing scene that actually took place during the events of Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. It also marked that the next film would take place after Tokyo Drift – the fourth, fifth, and sixth films took place before the third – thus ending the film’s somewhat weird chronology. Now filming for Fast and Furious 7 has begun, and the marketing for the movie is slowly revving up.
New set photos featuring muscle cars and a damaged large vehicle, along with minor plot details have been revealed via the film’s official twitter page. Additionally, a tweet has been sent out asking fans if they want to see another character make a return. Hit the jump to see them all.
Kurt Russell is still in talks to appear in Fast 7. It was speculated that he would be in a villain, but as to how he was connected to Dom Torreto’s family was unknown. Now, a new tweet confirms that his character will be a villain and that he is Jesse’s (from the first Fast and Furious) father.
When Denzel Washington turned down the role that Russell is now in talks for earlier this year, it was speculated that the villain would only have a small part in Fast 7, and would have a much bigger role in Fast and Furious 8. These tweets tell us that Fast 7 will be a revenge-based actioner, and also confirm that the role Russell is in talks for is indeed a minor one, and that it would grow into a major one in the eighth film.
Being a huge fan of his Death Proof character, Russell would be a welcomed addition to the cast.
Another tweet asked Fast and Furious fans if they would like to see Lucas Black make a return to the franchise:
In addition to the plot details, seven set photos were also tweeted for the fans’ viewing pleasure.
