Without actually knowing what Warner Bros and DC Comics have planned, it’s hard to tell if their TV and Cinematic universes will ever crossover. Odds are, they won’t. But it should be interesting to see how everything plays out, especially with lower-tiered superheroes now getting their own shows instead of their own movies.
Arrow is a prime example of how successful a superhero show can be, and now its spinoff is ready to come your way. Not only has CW ordered The Flash to a full series, but the network has been unveiling small teases to help promote the show’s upcoming Fall debut. Now we got a full five-minute trailer for The Flash, which not only cross overs with Arrow, but has the potential to expand the DC TV universe as a whole.

I am actually quite impressed with how this trailer looked. The video is a bit of an origins story as it explains how Barry Allen (Grant Gustan) gets inspired to become a CS Investigator to the world’s fastest human – well at least in the DC comics world. The trailer also expands on the idea that Barry isn’t the only metahuman (humans with supernatural abilities, basically DC’s version of mutants). And with that notion floating around, it is very possible that Arrow could be faced with humans with supernatural abilities on his own show.
Now the bigger question is, how will this show impact Justice League? Will there be two Flashes co-existing in two different universes? Or does WB, CW, and DC have something bigger planned for us.
The Flash will also star Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, and more. The series is scheduled to air on Tuesdays at 8pm on the CW.

Alright…I’ll admit that seeing some footage from the show helped improve my opinion a little bit. Two things I don’t like? #1 is still the costume. It doesn’t scream “fast” to me. It’s been 24 years and the costume from the original Flash series still looks damned good! #2 is a new one: the “kids” at STAR Labs. I understand they cast for their desired audience but I find it hard to take those two STAR Labs scientists (?) seriously because they look too young in my eyes. Even though he isn’t a teenager, the guy in the wheel chair looks on the young side. Speaking of the original Flash series, I see on another site that John Wesley Shipp has an appearance of some sort in at least episode 1. Kinda hoping they give a nod to him as the previous Flash by giving him the role of Jay Garrick or something like that! Be pretty cool. All in all, the trailer helped allay my overwhelming feat of disaster even if I still don’t like the costume. (can’t win them all!)
