We are finally getting the first look at the new masks of the members of Slipknot, which will see the new drummer and bassist wearing the same design. The video for the second single from Slipknot’s highly anticipated fifth album, .5: The Gray Chapter, premiered this morning. “The Devil In I” clip marks the first time in advance of the album that we have seen the band members, who are known to alter their look between every release.
Watch the official video for “The Devil In I” here below.
It seems there have been some pretty drastic alterations to the costumes this time. The most notable change comes from lead singer Corey Taylor whose new look is pictured above. Taylor and several members of the band are shown creatively disposing of their old personas in some graphically destructive ways in the clip.
As of now, the identify of the band’s new drummer — who takes the place of Joey Jordison (who left in 2013) — is unknown, but rumor has it that it’s Jay Weinberg, son of Max Weinberg (longtime drummer for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band).
.5: The Gray Chapter, which will be released on October 21, 2014, also marks the band’s first album without bassist and co-founder Paul Gray, who died in May 2010. The album title is a tribute to the fallen band member.
Warning: this video is pretty violent and gory… not for the faint of heart.

Regardless of how people feel about Slipknot, this video was one hell of a Video. I sure hope to see more from director M. Shawn Crahan.
