Denis Villeneuve‘s adaptation of Dune has done some terrific casting as of late. The reboot already has Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, and Charlotte Rampling. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, it will be adding Oscar Isaac in a pivotal role.

According to reports, the Star Wars actor will be joining the film as Duke Leto Atreides, the father of Paul Atreides (set to be played by Chalamet). More on the report below.

Frank Herbert's Dune

Legendary Pictures has found a writer to take on the new movie adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic Dune. According to reports, the studio has hired screenwriter Eric Roth for the job.

This latest cinematic take on Dune is set to be directed by Denis Villeneuve, who will be moving on to his third consecutive science fiction project after recent Best Picture nominee Arrival and the upcoming Blade Runner 2049, a sequel to Ridley Scott’s own sci-fi classic Blade Runner.

Denis Villeneuve To Direct Dune Reboot

After directing titles like the mystery thriller Enemy and the crime dramas Prisoners and Sicario, lately it’s been all about the science fiction for Denis Villeneuve.

First it was Arrival, the alien contact movie which was recently nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for Villeneuve. Most recently he’s been busy making Blade Runner 2049, the long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner. Then, back in December, it was revealed that Villeneuve was in line to possibly take on a new adaptation of the sci-fi classic Dune.

Now it appears a new Dune movie directed by Villeneuve is a done deal.

Frank Herbert's Dune

Denis Villeneuve has already proven himself to be well-versed in the sci-fi genre with the critically acclaimed Arrival. His next project sees him helming a more daring project, Blade Runner 2049, a sequel to Blade Runner.

And now it looks like he will be taking on yet another sci-fi film. There is word that the director is in early talks to helm a reboot of Dune following Legendary Pictures’ acquisition of the rights to author Frank Herbert‘s novel of the same name. Check out the full story below.
