Back in April we wrote about a website called Kickstarter, which allows independent filmmakers and other artists to try and obtain the funding necessary to make their dream projects a reality (Read: Want To Help Get An Independent Movie Made? Now You Can!).
The website works so well because instead of just asking people to donate their money, things like posters, soundtracks, and DVDs (sometimes signed), and special perks like thanks in the credits, invites to special events and set visits, or even producer credits (if you drop enough coin, of course) are offered in exchange for your help.
In that article, the project showcased was How Do You Write a Joe Schermann Song, the new musical from indie filmmaker Gary King. It came right down to the wire (there’s a deadline in which you need to reach your monetary goal), but the goal was indeed reached, and the movie has been moving forward ever since. With this past weekend came word that the first teaser trailer for the movie would be released today, and it’s here now for you all to see!
