Earlier this month, I attended the Up All Night: Pay to Get Out Horror Movie Marathon at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, Long Island, New York. This is the second year I’ve done this, so it’s now an annual tradition for me. The theater hosts many special events throughout the year, but for horror fans their movie marathons are something special. This year, 7 films were advertised with a mystery 8th film to cap off the marathon before a special bagel breakfast for those who survived the evening, along with the guaranteed $10 refund. Here’s a rundown of my experience at this year’s event, which took place on Saturday, August 3, 2019.
In addition to The Walking Dead, Stranger Things, and the recently announcedGhostbusters, it’s been revealed that Killer Klowns from Outer Space will also be a part of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights 2019.
The killer klowns will be making their return to the event at Universal Orlando Resort, and appearing for the first time at Universal Studios Hollywood. You can find the full announcement below along with a brief promo video.
I like many others saw the VHS cover of 1988’s Killers Klowns from Outer Space in the video store one day long ago, and just had to see what the hell it was. I was not disappointed. It was every bit as delightfully absurd as I had hoped it would be, and then some.
Back in 2011 we found out that a sequel to the movie, or a “requel,” was on the way in 2012. Seeing as how it’s now 2016, that obviously did not work out. Sad face. But never fear, director Stephen Chiodo says they’re still working on getting the alien clowns to visit us once again, but a new approach is being taken.
It’s time to take another ride on a nightmare merry-go-round, and this time it will be in 3D.
The 1988 sci-fi/horror/comedy cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space is heading full tilt boogie for a 21st century reinvention with its original creators Stephen, Charles, and Edward Chiodo once again at the controls. Prepare for the coming of The Return of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space in 3D!
District 9, the new film from director Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson, is being released this Friday, August 14, 2009. With a nice little R-rating, there’s sure to be some heavy human/alien violence going down. In District 9, the aliens supposedly come in peace, but with most alien science fiction movies, that’s usually not the case. Quite the opposite, in fact.
So, in celebration of this new first-contact humans-meet-aliens film that’s getting rave reviews from all who’ve see it so far, we’ve decided to concoct a list of some of the most awesome scenes of aliens killing humans in film. Obviously, there’s been thousands of instances where an alien takes out a human in movies, so finding some of the more outstanding examples was not an easy task. Basically, the movies selected took a death and went a step further…or sometimes, a couple of steps further.
Whether the kill is just ultra-violent, or if it’s completely and disgustingly unique, if it makes viewers cringe when it happens, then it’s worthy of this list. Hopefully we’ve managed to feature some of the elite members of this category.
So without further delay, if you’re not one of the squeamish, click on over and check out our 7 Awesome Alien Kills In Film!
