Snake Eyes: Agent of Cobra #5 is stunning. That’s the good news. The bad news is, that’s pretty much all I can say about it without spoiling anything. Seriously, this is one of the hardest reviews I’ve ever had to writer. Every page of this book could be considered a spoiler. But, I’ll do my best.

There’s a reason that Mike Costa writes a lot of G.I. Joe comics. He’s really really good at it. So, if you’ve been keeping up on the title (which you REALLY should be), you know that Jinx and Billy are on the run from somebody’s who’s trying to kill them. This issue, we find out why and the answer will shock you and at the same time, it’s just flat out brilliant. PLUS….OK, this is impossible to keep up with at this point.

In G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes, Agent of Cobra #3 we get more kick butt action than you could ask for! The mystery of why Snake Eyes is working for Cobra takes a back seat this issue, but that’s ok, there’s plenty of other stuff to keep us entertained and to keep the story moving. But, there is a little something missing from this issue. Want to find out what it is? Read on.

G.I. Joe: The Cobra Files #2 is all around a great comic. It’s heavy on the talking, a little light on the action, but all in all, it serves it’s purpose by being both interesting AND entertaining.

Mike Costa writes an issue here, that’s a LOT of set up, and you can tell that, when it hits, the payoff is going to be HUGE. He does some really great character work here. You’ve got the Chameleon, Flint, Lady Jaye and others trying to figure out what the first Cobra Commander’s son, Billy, does and doesn’t know about the Cobra organization. One thing that I wasn’t quite clear on, is just WHY they think Billy is such a threat to national security. But, I’m guessing that that will come out in a future issue. Overall, it’s a very interesting issue.

Wow! G.I. Joe: The Cobra Files #1 is probably one of my favorite books going right now! And, it’s only on it’s first issue. That’s setting the bar pretty high for any future issues, guys.

Mike Costa returns to write the book that focuses on the G.I. Joe team that’s taking it undercover to Cobra. They have set themselves deep undercover — and I mean DEEP undercover. In fact, I don’t know how they’re going to find their way back at this point. The book has a very small cast of characters, and that’s one of the things that I like about it. Along with all the espionage, intrigue, and awesomeness. I don’t want to reveal any spoilers, and unfortunately, anything that I say about the book’s story can be considered an actual spoiler. Save it to say, if you liked Costa’s last G.I. Joe series, you’ll love this one!
