Zootopia
Directors: Byron Howard, Rich Moore, Jared Bush
Writers: Jared Bush, Phil Johnston
Cast: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, J.K. Simmons, Jenny Slate, Nate Torrence, Shakira
Studio: Disney Animation Studios
Release Date: March 4, 2016 On the surface, Zootopia looks like just another talking animal with anthropomorphic features piddling around getting laughs by means of using childish humor. But that is just the surface, and it is a very thin one. In reality, for beyond that layer lies a deeper and more meaningful story, and if you peel that layer back, you’ll soon discover that Disney Animation Studios’ latest film has a message, a very poignant one that could not have come out at a more perfect time. In a day and age where bullying, prejudices, stereotypes, and preconceived notions are hurting many, and social issues are becoming more prevalent in our neighboring communities and homes, Zootopia has a message. Yeah, expecting a film like this to get everyone to get along is merely impossible and expecting too much, but all it is asking of us is to “try.” Try to understand one another, because if you do, you’ll become more exceptional. Check out the full review of the movie here below.

| 50 Things You Need To Know About Disney’s ‘Zootopia’ |

Zootopia marks the return of Disney using animals who can walk and talk. While this isn’t be the first time we have seen such a film where no humans are involved, the film has a more contemporary feel to it, with the world of Zootopia drawing inspiration from real-world based architecture, vehicles, and government agencies like a police force and the DMV. The film comes from Bryon Howard (Tangled, Bolt) and Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph). You have already seen what it takes to make a movie that has never been seen be-fur, what it takes to design an animal metropolis that has been designed by animals, figuring out the story, and the animation process. Now its time for some fun facts. Little fun tid bits that we learned with our fellow journalists during this fun event. Below are 50 things you need to know about Zootopia which includes how the directors and producers are continuing Disney’s legacy, the amount of research that went into the film, the new animation technology that was used in the film, the recording process, how many leaves are on a tree, and so much more. Check it all out below.

We, along with a group of our fellow journalists, visited the studios’ temporary Tujunga Campus where the animators and storytellers were hard at work getting ready for the film’s March 2016 release. Now we are revealing a little bit more by giving you a look at the animation side of the film. Below we had a chance to sit down and listen to Character Design Supervisor Cory Loftis, Character Look Supervisor Michelle Robinson, Character CG Supervisor Dave Komorowski, and Simulation Supervisor Claudia Chung Sanii explain what it takes to fill up the empty city of Zootopia. There are nearly 400 animals from each continent were represented in the film.
