New episodes of Marvel‘s Super Hero Squad Show are coming to Cartoon Network, according to Marvel Comics Editor-In-Chief and show producer Joe Quesada, who made the announcement this weekend during the Marvel Animation Panel at the C2E2 2010.
“We are feverishly working on season 2,” Quesada said, adding also that “the lay of the land will change this season… it’s going to go cosmic,” which seems to pick up with the end of season 1 that saw the Silver Surfer volunteering to once again become a herald of the planet-eating Galactus.
While there won’t be an appearance by Spider-Man, Quesada did say fans would see plenty of new characters pop up, including Bucky, Hercules, Zeus, and Captain Marvel.
“If you’ve got a favorite character, the chances are you’re going to see them pop up in either Super Hero Squad or the animated Avengers,” Quesada said. Marvel showed fans a teaser video of Modok presenting to other villains at a panel, which got a nice reaction from the crowd.
Also announced was the continuation of Iron Man: Armored Adventures in Fall 2011. Nickelodeon has ordered a 26-episode run for the second season, which has “more armor per minute than you can ever imagine,” according to Marvel animation producer Josh Fine.
Thanks! I’ve already got some ideas in my head for next year’s birthdays. It will all depend, though, if my kids still have the same interests in a year from now!
