Last month, Netflix announced two new collaborations with DreamWorks Animation, one of which was a reimagining of Voltron.
Now, the official full title and logo have been revealed for the new original series in the form of a teaser image.

So far, very few details about Voltron: Legendary Defender have been released, except that the series will launch in 2016 on Netflix everywhere but in China, and that it will feature a “mix of action, comedy and an epic storyline spearheaded by yet-to-be-announced veteran animation talent & longtime Voltron fans.”
The original 1984 animated children’s series, Voltron: Defender of the Universe, centered on a group of five young space explorers from Earth who pilot a giant robot named “Voltron,” an powerful ancient warrior of peace recommissioned after King Zarkon of Planet Doom and his evil forces terrorize the galaxy.
The new Voltron series comes as part of an expansion to Netflix and DreamWorks Animation’s current multi-year deal, which will see more new original series developed and produced by DreamWorks Animation for Netflix, “based not only on recent and upcoming feature films from the studio, but also on other classic IP [intellectual properties].” A new series, Trollhunters, based on the children’s book by filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, is also part of this new deal, which also gives Netflix the streaming rights to the DreamWorks Animation feature film library.
Netflix currently streams several original children’s series created DreamWorks Animation, including The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show, The Adventures of Puss in Boots, DreamWorks Dragons, and Dawn of the Croods.
