FX has released some new promo videos for Taboo, the upcoming eight episode event series starring Tom Hardy. We saw a trailer for the miniseries back in February.
Hardy plays a man who everyone thought was dead returning home to claim ownership of his father’s shipping company in the early 1800s. Continue below for more on the series and to watch the new promo videos.
DESCRIPTION:
In 1814, Taboo follows James Keziah Delaney, a man who has been to the ends of the earth and comes back irrevocably changed. Believed to be long dead, he returns home to London from Africa to inherit what is left of his father’s shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself. But his father’s legacy is a poisoned chalice, and with enemies lurking in every dark corner, James must navigate increasingly complex territories to avoid his own death sentence. Encircled by conspiracy, murder, and betrayal, a dark family mystery unfolds in a combustible tale of love and treachery.
In addition to starring, Hardy also wrote and executive produced the miniseries. It’s based on a story by he and his father Chips Hardy, who’s a consulting producer. Alien and Blade Runner director Ridley Scott is also an executive producer.
Taboo was created by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Peaky Blinders, Locke), with Kristoffer Nyholm (The Killing, The Enfield Haunting) having directed all eight episodes.
The cast also includes Oona Chaplin, Michael Kelly, Jonathan Pryce, David Hayman, Leo Bill, Danny Ligairi, Richard Dixon, Scroobius Pip, Fiona Skinner, and Jason Watkins.
Taboo is set to premiere on FX and BBC One on Tuesday, January 10th.
