The film title for The Dark is Rising, the upcoming fantasy adventure based on the novel by Susan Cooper, has been changed to The Seeker: The Dark is Rising.
Apple Trailers has added the trailer in three high-definition versions (we posted the standard format here a few weeks ago).
The film’s official site has be updated with a SEEK THE SIGNS quest. Register with the site to and begin the quest to find 6 hidden sign sequences, which will unlock exclusive content. You can also embed a Seeker Badge into your own site so you can track the progress of your Seeker Quest. You can see my Badge here after the jump.
MTV will post six Webisodes that go behind the scenes with the 20 or so interns on the film set in Romania on film, that will include never-seen-before footage of the movie. The Webisodes are also be available for download for your iPod in iTunes under So You Want To Be A Movie Intern.
The Seeker: The Dark is Rising will hit theaters October 5, 2007.
UPDATE: Screenwriter John Hodge explains to MTV why he took on the task of adapting The Dark is Rising and the reasons behind some of the changes he made from the novel.
Here’s the MTV links:
Episode 1: The Real World of ‘Dark is Rising’
Episode 2: Welcome to Romania
Here’s a look at my Seeker Badge:
I think that MTV things have been pretty amusing. I used to want to direct, so it’s cool to see an interns pov from the set. of course, dark is rising doesn’t look to be the most “exciting” set, but it’s still fun.
I got my badge from the website too! A card I got from comic-con had the directions and a sequence on it. The one i had unlocked an interview with Christopher Ecclesston.

What was the code from the card? I saw an poster at the theater last night with a sequence on it, but can’t remember it. Going back for bourne this weekend, so i’ll try to share.

Don’t know if this will help, but the Wall St Journal mentioned the “seek the signs” quest today and said there are “25 different combonations of the signs… which lead to 25 different pieces of content on the Web site”.

STILL DOESN’T SAY WHERE, but I guess the hunt is on.
[ED NOTE: Fox Walden contacted us today with a news update on the Seek The Signs quest. Here’s our update:
