Yippee!!!
The teaser trailer for J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek XI is now online at Yahoo! Movies.
UPDATE: We now have the trailer in various formats, including for iPod – CLICK HERE.
The teaser trailer debuted this weekend in theaters in front of the Abrams-produced Cloverfield.
Earlier this week, a first look at the Trek prequel was released, which showed the U.S.S. Enterprise under construction. The image can now be seen in the teaser trailer, which shows the same scene along with a “Space, the final frontier …” voice over by Leonard Nimoy, who reprises his role as Mr. Spock in the film.
Star Trek XI hits theaters on December 25, 2008.
The Paramount feature film stars John Cho, Ben Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Winona Ryder, Zoë Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, with Eric Bana and Leonard Nimoy.
UPDATE: First Viral Web site is live.
I just spent the last few minutes clicking everything I could on the Star Trek XI official site, which also has the teaser trailer. If you click on the little red dot to the right of the “Under Construction” sign, you’ll get to the first of lord knows how many viral sites: www.ncc-1701.com.
While I love finding these hidden gems, I hate having to figure out what I’m supposed to be seeing. In this case, all I can see are three of four cameras showing footage of the shipyard where the U.S.S. Enterprise is being built. (NCC-1701 is the registry number of the Enterprise.) Because I’m totally impatient, I’ll direct you to Brad’s post at Rope of Silicon, since he seems to have figured out a few more things (his fourth camera came on, yet mine never did).
