E3 2010: Lionhead Delivers Brand New ‘Fable 3’ Gameplay Trailer

Coming out of E3 this year is a new trailer for the highly anticipated Fable 3.

Watch it below.

At the end Fable 2, you become the kind Albion, the nation in the game. At the beginning of Fable 3, your old character is dead and you play as one of your sons. It is an interesting way to tie the two games together, if it is a little confusing.

There are two sons of your former character: one continues on to rule ruthlessly; the other, the one you play, is left to be homeless. Strange that one prince would get it all, while the other gets nothing. Hopefully this will be explained. What is a former prince left with nothing to do, but revolt against his brother to gain power, which is exactly what you do in the game.

Apparently you gain power and then have to decide what kind of ruler you will become. The gameplay from the footage is very familiar for those of us who played Fable 2, including having a dog. The dog does however look to be a little more involved in the combat than in the previous game.

The new trailer is very short, a little over a minute, and doesn’t give too many new details. It does give a nice look at the graphics, which do look more polished. No mention of any of the new features that the game is supposed to have, but this wouldn’t be the first time that things were promised in a Fable game and then not delivered. There is a moment in the trailer however that it looks like two spells are cast at once, which would be new for the series.

I myself really enjoy the Fable games. Hopefully this game remains just as enjoyable without bogging it down too much with new features. The developer is also a big fan of Kinect (formerly Project Natal), but it remains to be seen if the Microsoft’s motion controller will be used at all.

Fable 3 launches on October 26th on Xbox 360 and PC.

  2. It looks the same as Fable 2.
It’d be so much more useful if there were some actual gameplay in there that didn’t last a second..
Though I’m still buying it. Who could pass up the opportunity of being King of Albion?

  6. Awsome, and u suck Misael, what do you mean stupid looking, lets make it look like mw2 or metal gear solid or halo, that would look stupid, it is the special kind of graphics that makes fable special, if you put to high graphics then it will look overdone and will be cheezy and would suck, and you are totally right Dustin, i cant fin anything but the same vids and stuff
