Normally it’s not news when an actor isn’t a part of a project, but when it involves the relationship between both George Clooney and his director BFF Steven Soderbergh, it makes your head turn.

Deadline is reporting that, while he’s been attached to the film since pretty much day one, Clooney will not star in the director’s upcoming film, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Based on the 1960s TV series, the film is one that WB has been attempting to get off the ground for a while now, and is penned by Scott Z. Burns.

Personally, while Clooney is out, this is still a film I couldn’t be more excited for. The film will be one of Soderbergh’s last, so the director has a lot more riding on this it than just a regular film. He’s an all-time great filmmaker, and this could be one hell of a movie with the right cast. What do you think of this news?
