Yesterday saw the release of a burning and crumbling Gotham City poster for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises. Normally this would be a call for celebration as it has been a few months since we saw the release of a poster for the film. But due the horrible photoshop work – which combined the teaser poster and a promo image of Batman from The Dark Knight – fans thrashed Warner Bros for their sloppy release. There’s even an animated gif that proves just how easy it is to recreate the poster that was released yesterday.

Now that Warner Bros has seen the reaction of what horribly done posters can do, they released six brand new posters, featuring Batman, Catwoman, and Bane braving inclement weather. Check out all six of these posters below.

The inclement weather certainly sets the tone for the film, and both sets of these posters look ten times better than the poster that was release yesterday. But the large “Rise” tagline that is pretty obvious in the rain posters seems a bit unnecessary. Rises is already in the title, why use it as a tagline? Why not use “The Legend Ends” tagline that was used in the ominous snow poster? Well beggars can’t be choosers. At least these six character posters are far superior to that of the fire poster that was released yesterday.
