Prometheus left somewhat of a sour after taste for a majority of movie goers expecting to experience the same terror and fear they felt when Ridley Scott‘s Alien came out. However, when the film ended, it left enough of a tease for fans to come back for a sequel. Now there will be spoilers after the jump as to where it could go, but Fox has found a writer to pen the script for Prometheus 2.
According to The Wrap, Fox wants Jack Palgen, screenwriter for Wally Pfister’s directorial debut Transcendence, to write the script for Prometheus 2. Jon Spaihts wrote the initial script for the first film, with Damon Lindelof doing the rewrites.
The site says the studio signed off on his draft for a sequel, and that the deal could be closed at any moment. With the Transcendence script being kept in the dark from the public, we can only hope that Fox’s decision to hire Palgen as the film’s scribe is a good one.
Now for some spoilers. Towards the end of Prometheus, an injuried Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and the bodyless David (Michael Fassbender) escape from god-like beings called engineers on the planet designated LV-223. Since the two escaped in one of the engineer’s ship, the sequel could take a look at their next exploration as they try to understand the engineers.
Of course there is also that early stage xenomorph that we can’t forget about. After all the film teased a xenomorph bursting out of one of the engineer’s chest, so there is hope that we can see it again in the sequel.
Do you think Palgen is the right man for the job? What do you want to see in Prometheus 2?

I just finished watching Prometheus ten minutes ago. It wasn’t bad, but this dude will need some well developed writing chops to write a sequel worth seeing.
Guess I need to look him up…
