20th Century Fox has released an official trailer for Underwater, an upcoming deep sea thriller.

The movie stars Kristen Stewart as a member of a team of researchers who find themselves dealing with an unknown threat seven miles below the ocean surface. Vincent Cassel, T. J. Miller, John Gallagher Jr., Jessica Henwick, Mamoudou Athie, and Gunner Wright join Stewart on the cast.

The movie is directed by William Eubank, whose previous credits include Love and The Signal.

The story comes from Brian Duffield, whose credits include Insurgent, Jane Got a Gun, and The Babysitter. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Adam Cozad (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, The Legend of Tarzan).

Underwater is set to be released in theaters early next year on January 10th.
