If you’re a horror movie fan, you are constantly on the lookout for something of substance and quality. Sometimes, rarely, one of those films finds their way into the mainstream. Last year it was David Robert Mitchell’s It Follows that took horror fans by storm. Too often though, more than any other genre, horror gets bogged down in cash grab sequels, and pointless tone deaf remakes. When all the theatres can churn out are another Paranormal Activity or Purge film, fans must look to other places. Enter the wonderful streaming universe. This week, I was messaged on Facebook by a fellow horror-nut who recommended Hush, currently streaming on Netflix. When I looked it up and saw who the director was, I quickly grabbed for the remote.

J.J. Abrams Says ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ “Is Very Purposefully Not Called ‘Cloverfield 2′”

So far we know that the Dan Trachtenberg-directed 10 Cloverfield Lane is a blood-relative to Cloverfield – which was directed by Matt Reeves. Producer J.J. Abrams made that abundantly clear when a surprise trailer made its debut in theaters alongside 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi earlier this year. But just sharing the name has a few thinking that the new film is a direct sequel to the 2008 sci-fi hit.
Now Abrams wants to clear the air. Despite the fact that the two films share the same name, and the characters are in the same world as the first Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane is not “Cloverfield 2.” It’s just 10 Cloverfield Lane. Check out what he had to say here below.

’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Trailer: Bad Robot’s “Blood Relative” To ‘Cloverfield’

Paramount Pictures attached a surprising trailer to Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. Following much speculation and rumor, it has now been confirmed that this trailer is for the new Dan Trachtenberg film 10 Cloverfield Lane, starring John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and John Gallagher Jr.
Now, going by the title of the film and that it’s a Bad Robot production, one would assume that this is a sequel to 2008’s Cloverfield. Well, this is partially correct. As producer J.J. Abrams would explain, the film isn’t exactly a sequel, describing it as a “blood-relative” to Cloverfield. Check out his full statement, plus the official trailer and poster, in the story here below.
