The Flash is being brought into continuity of CW’s Arrow television show, and will be spun-off into a pilot episode that more than likely be picked up for a full-season show. While we’ve seen Grant Gustin already appear in Arrow, it was just as Barry Allen in his normal attire, rather than the iconic red and yellow Flash costume.
That all changes now, and you can see what the Flash costume will look like here below!
Today, DC Comics revealed in a photo what The Flash will look like, or at least what his head will look like. The famous yellow lightning bolts are proudly displayed on the sides of the hood, which is dark red in color and appears to be made of a heavy leather-like substance.
At first look, this design retains the comic book’s traditional costume aesthetic while being transitioned into Arrow‘s semi-real world superhero universe. We’re still awaiting a full body shot of Gustin in costume, but this is a great teaser so far and should keep fans in a positive frame of mind. Production on The Flash pilot begins next week, so we probably won’t be waiting long before additional images arrive. No air date for the pilot has been set yet.
What do you think? Are you pleased with the costume direction thus far?

did you actually read the article or just look at the picture? They stated that no full body shot had been released yet and only this head shot of him as the flash was released.

No don’t like the wings being gone and replace with the Flash’s emblem on his ears. What is with Movie/TV people what do they have against wings? First Captain America, now this. Uggh! We will see.
