The Heroes and Villains Fan Fest emanated from the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center in Edison, NJ on September 8th and 9th, where the biggest stars from comics television and film were there and fans were able to pose for photos with them, get autographs, and take part in Q&A panel discussions. The fest heavily featured stars from DC’s TV Universe or “Arrow-verse†on The CW. Stars from Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and more were there as well as stars from Fox’s Gotham.
The opening panel of the weekend was the Firestorm panel featuring the trio of actors who’ve portrayed the character: Victor Garber, Robbie Amell, and Franz Drameh. The stars talked about their superhero favorites, and took an array of questions from the eager crowd. And moderating the panel was my wife Athena (Olympus Athens) and myself Dan (Dr. Zaius) of Geeks Of Doom.
Check out the video of our moderating debut here below.

Last week on The CW’s crossover “Crisis on Earth-X,” members of Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow converged on Central City to celebrate the wedding of Barry Allen and Iris West (Grant Gustin, Candice Patton). Alas, that wedding did not happen because Nazis from Earth-35 aka Earth-X, the terrible world where Hitler won WWII, invaded the church and a fierce battle ensued. Our heroes had to fight their way out through Metallo, Red Tornado, OverGirl (Melissa Benoist), Evil Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), and Eobard Thawne wearing a Wells (Tom Cavanagh) face. They had one hero on their side that was lost on their Earth – Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller).

Warning! Spoilers below for all parts of The CW Crossover, including tonight’s episode of The Flash!
So far, on Crisis on Earth-X, all of the heroes and legends converged on Central City to attend the wedding of Barry and Iris (Grant Gustin, Candice Patton). Of course, happiness can’t happen without hitches and glitches, so Nazis invaded the ceremony, led by evil Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), evil Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), and the original Eobard Thawne wearing a Wells (Tom Cavanagh) face. They came from Earth-X, the 53rd earth where the Nazis won WWII. The plan? Save dying evil Supergirl by taking the heart of our Kara. Some cool battles ensued, but our heroes were left in a Nazi prison at the end of Arrow last night.

This year’s Heroes and Villains Fanfest (HVFF) swept into the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey this past weekend. Guests included stars of DC and Marvel superhero TV series like Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Gotham, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. While Stephen Amell, the star of CW’s Arrow, was the featured attraction, a guest that drew some of the biggest crowds was John Barrowman. The man has literally done it all: Broadway, recorded albums, published books, and oh yeah, he’s a geek icon. Barrowman is a double threat to the super-geek crowd, playing the villain/anti-hero Malcolm Merlyn on Arrow since 2012 while also known to many as Captain Jack Harkness from Doctor Who and starring in its spinoff series Torchwood from 2006-2011. On Saturday afternoon, the actor packed the Exposition Center’s panel stage and kept the audience enthralled and laughing non-stop for an hour.
