How big of a fan of The Simpsons are you? Maybe you’ve seen every single episode. Maybe you can quote every single line, and even in the correct voices. But how big of a fan are you really? Could you, for example, watch 522 episodes of the series in 12 days? If you answered yes, you will have a chance to prove it very soon.
It’s been announced that FXX will air a 522-episode marathon of The Simpsons starting on August 21st of this summer and running the next 12 days through Labor Day.
In addition to the marathon, FXX will also begin airing episodes of The Simpsons in four-hour blocks every Sunday night.
There is a Guinness World Record for continuous television viewing, which was set in 2012 where a pair of people watched, fittingly, The Simpsons for 86 hours and 37 minutes straight. If you just did the math then you just realized that yes, you could not only beat this world record watching all 261 hours, but obliterate it.
Whether you actually decide to tell Guinness about it or not, well, that’s up to you.
