Since the release of Rocky in 1977 and its sequels lots and lots and lots of people have run up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, just as Rocky himself (played by Sylvester Stallone) did as part of his training regiment in the movies. There’s even a statue there that was used in Rocky III.
Recently a group of friends visiting Philly did the same thing all of these other fans of the movies have done. But instead of finding just steps or the Rocky statue, this particular group of friends found the real Rocky, Stallone himself, there.
You can check out the picture they took of the encounter below.
When the friends arrived at the top of the stairs, Stallone said to them “Man, you guys are fast. You’re making me look bad!” He then took the picture below with them, saying “Look tough, guys!”
Stallone was in Philly for the filming of the latest entry in the Rocky series, a spinoff titled Creed, as was reported recently. The spinoff follows the grandson of Rocky’s former foe and eventual friend Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). The younger Creed is played by Fruitvale Station and the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot star Michael B. Jordan.
