SDRR Comic-Con Panel

At San Diego Comic-Con, yesterday the Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll panel got together for the first time at this huge Con as a show, and as a band, and as a family. The panel consisted of: Denis Leary, who plays aging lead singer Johnny Rock, Liz Gillies, who plays Gigi, Johnny’s surprise daughter and new lead singer of The Heathens, John Corbett, who plays guitarist, Flash, John Ales, who plays bassist, Rehab, Robert Kelly as drummer Bam-Bam, and Elaine Hendrix, who plays Ava, Johnny Rock’s longtime girlfriend and backup singer.

Check out the panel videos and some clips from the red carpet below.

The promos have promised a 1/2 hour of funny and rock, so they got me.

Some highlights:

– Denis writes the songs.

– Robert Kelly and John Ales didn’t know how to play their instruments and now they could go on tour.

– Liz on the difference between her old Nickelodeon show and this one.

– Bands, no matter how much they seem to hate each other, really become a family.

Corbett on the red carpet: “The show’s got a lot of heart, and I think that people are gonna be… you know with the commercials and everything, it’s only gonna be 20 minutes. I think they are gonna be watering at the mouth, for next week’s episode… every week because it’s not enough time to spend with this family.”

I know I will be.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll premieres Thursday, July 16th at 10pm ET on FX.
