Gods Of Egypt Gerard Butler

Lionsgate has released a new trailer for their all-out epic film Gods of Egypt that will serve as their Super Bowl spot for the upcoming movie.

Watch Super Bowl spot titled “War” here below.

Gods of Egypt has Gerard Butler leading as the god of darkness Set, who’s usurped the Egyptian throne with aspirations to rule the world, although his style of leadership involves much chaos, conflict, and destruction. Game Of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (who plays Jaime Lannister on the HBO series) stars as Horus, is beheld as the only one who can say Egypt from Set’s tyranny.

It wouldn’t be a Gerard Butler action-movie trailer if it didn’t include a slo-mo shot of the actor, so be on the lookout for that in this new TV spot as well, and while Butler is the headline star, Coster-Waldau is shaping up to be the real standout in this CGI-filled film.

In this spectacular action-adventure inspired by the classic mythology of Egypt, the survival of mankind hangs in the balance as an unexpected mortal hero Bek [Brenton Thwaites] undertakes a thrilling journey to save the world and rescue his true love. In order to succeed, he must enlist the help of the powerful god Horus [Nikolaj Coster-Waldau] in an unlikely alliance against Set [Gerard Butler], the merciless god of darkness, who has usurped Egypt’s throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. As their breathtaking battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens, both god and mortal must pass tests of courage and sacrifice if they hope to prevail in the epic final confrontation.

Directed by Alex Proyas, and also starring Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Elodie Yung, Courtney Eaton, and Geoffrey Rush, Gods of Egypt hits standard and IMAX theaters on February 26, 2016.
