It’s over a month away, and it’s 30 seconds of video, but The Strain has the incredible ability to scare the s*** out of me. FX has released three 10-second teasers, all with jump scares, and with the stakes ever higher this season, it’s hard to see how this war can be won.

So we know from the clips that Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand) are not vamps. Thomas Eichhorst (Richard Sammel) is still gleefully terrifying, and Bolivar is the young, strong Master (Jack Kesy). Nobody else is shown in the clips. At the end of last season, Eph lost the 2 people he loved the most, by the 3rd one – his ex-wife Kelly (Natalie Brown). Nora (Mia Maestro) died after trying to protect Zach, who left willingly with his mom into the strigoi lair.

Fet: “You’re not hunting him anymore. He’s hunting you.” I really hope he gets his love, Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas), back. They were my 2nd favorite TV couple (looking at you Outlander).

The Strain season 3 infects us August 28th on FX. Don’t miss the panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 21st at 3:15pm in Ballroom 20, where there will be a “screening of a preview of the upcoming third season, followed by a Q&A with showrunner/executive producer/director/writer Carlton Cuse, co-creator/executive producer/writer Chuck Hogan, and stars Kevin Durand, Ruta Gedmintas, Richard Sammel, and Miguel Gomez.”
