John Wick (Keanu Reeves) thought he left the hitman life behind him. But when his beloved dog given by his dying wife is killed, he gets his revenge on those who were involved with taking away his pooch. However, he had to repay a debt, and was roped back into the life. But after killing the person he owes on Continental Hotel grounds, a code that cannot be broken, he finds himself marked and on the run.
So John Wick Chapter 3 (or John Wick 3: Parabellum) will serve as the conclusion to everyone’s favorite hitman. But other than a plot synopsis, we don’t know what the film will look like. Although, we can expect to see sharp suits and dogs. Now a pair of images will give us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming sequel and who will be helping the titular character along the way. Check it out below.
EW was the first to release the two new images. In one, we see Wick walking through a crowd in the rain. We can presume it is New York City given the “One Way” street sign in the back, and the fact that when we last saw Wick, he was given a one-hour head start by Winston (Ian McShane), before everyone would be gunning for the $14 million dollar bounty that is on his head.
In the second image, we see Wick and Sofia (Halle Berry) taking their dogs on a stroll through the desert. Now, for them, these dogs hold a different meaning. Director Chad Stahelski tells EW, “Whereas John’s puppy was symbolic of his wife, Halle’s two dogs are symbolic of someone she’s lost.”
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons”¦ he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.
Laurence Fishburne also stars. John Wick: Chapter 3 opens in theaters on May 17, 2019.
