To All The Boys I Loved Before

To All The Boys I Loved Before centered on Lara (Lana Condor) penning five secret love letters to five different crushes in her life. But when those letters get out, she has to deal with the repercussions, which includes hatching a plan to fool everyone into thinking she and one of her crushes are in a relationship. Predictably, it does not go all according to plan. But in the long run, it was a film that was a sweet reminder of high school relationships and innocent love.

And because the film is based on the first book of Jenny Han‘s trilogy, it only made sense that fans of the books, and the film, would want to see a sequel. And that’s exactly what we are getting. So get ready to see a new romantic rival fight Noah Centineo for love. More on the report, below.

Netflix made the official announcement on YouTube, which sees Condor express excitement over the announcement in a FaceTime chat with Centineo. Of course, it wouldn’t be much of a To All The Boys I Loved Before video without making a few nods to the film. So, there’s the “if we do this, we have to make a contract,” and Centineo saying “whoa, whoa, whoa.”

This is a pretty exciting announcement. Especially for those who became smitten with the film over the summer – me included. But for those fans who may be curious about who will be playing John Ambrose: the after credit sequence in To All The Boys I Loved Before saw the character, then played by Jordan Burtchett, opening the door to Lara’s house. However, the video below has Condor saying “You’re going to make the perfect John Ambrose!” This seems to indicate that the role has been recast. Or is just another ploy by Netflix to see if fans stuck around to see an after-credit scene.

Screenwriter Sofia Alvarez is set to write the script for the sequel.

Regardless, an adaptation of Han’s P.S. I Still Love You is coming. And if the sequel is successful, you can bet Always and Forever, Lara Jean will be on its way.
