If you have ever had a cat, then you know how regal they can be. It is almost as if they know more than anyone or anything else; basking in that knowledge and superiority. If you ignore their aloofness and their ever-present need to have humans cater to their every whim, they are actually marvelous little creatures. So is it really a far stretch to imagine that one of them could be able to travel ethereally to help one they have befriended. But such is the case in Dark Horse Comics‘ Strayed #1.
The basis for the tale is one of conquest and expansion, stories well told throughout the history of mankind. Greed and desperation play their parts as the military organization forces Lou, the empowered feline, and Kiara, his human companion, to seek out new worlds for annihilation and colonization. I enjoyed this first issue and look forward to many more. This is a must-read if you happen to be a fan of kitties. Enjoy!
Most cats have nine lives, but the fates of billions rest on this feline.
In the far future, a military-industrial complex reigns over all humanity and actively destroys distant alien worlds. The galaxy’s only hope can be found through an unlikely pair: an astral-projecting cat named Lou and his loving owner Kiara. Trading nine lives for the well-being of billions, their revolt is a battle for love, friendship, compassion, and the soul of humanity.
Also, my cat-obsessed editors think (and I agree) that you guys should see this Twitter post from writer Carlos Giffoni, which includes photos of his own cat checking out a copy of this debut issue.
