Thanos in Avengers Infinity War

Captain America may be one of the Avengers (or former Avengers) who is able to take a beating all day, but what about an entire day plus a few extra hours of a movie marathon?

Having a movie marathon prior to a major film release just comes with the territory for any blockbuster event like Star Wars or any Marvel Studios film. But what will happen before Avengers: Infinity War will defy anything you know about movie marathons in a theater.

That’s because AMC Theaters will be hosting a 31-hour movie marathon of all the Marvel Cinematic Universe films leading up to Infinity War. Do you have the stones to embark on this crazy endeavor? More on the story below.

Get Out

It’s nearly been one year since Jordan Peele‘s Get Out was released, and the film continues to make an impact. Considered one of the best films of the year, Get Out has been nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Actor. Quite an accomplishment for a first time director.

However, if you haven’t gotten a chance to see what everyone has been talking about, then you might want to take advantage of the free screenings that AMC will be having this coming Presidents’ Day. More on the announcement below.

Marvel Movie Marathon Header

AMC Theaters announced Monday that the theater chain would be hosting a Marvel movie marathon at 10 different locations across the United States on May 3 in anticipation for The Avengers on May 4.

AMC is doing something really cool with this. Leading up until the midnight showing of The Avengers, AMC is showing Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, AND The Avengers in that order, so that fans of the Marvel movies can witness all of the pre-Avengers saga. The price of admission is $40, which isn’t too bad considering the fact that each money averages to about seven dollars a ticket. That’s a pretty good deal, especially considering you get free 3D shades for 3D presentations of some of the movies. Now you just have to have that day open, and you’re good!

Adam Green’s ‘Hatchet 2’ Pulled From AMC Theaters … But Why?

The Movie God   |  @   |

Quite the buzz has grown recently around director Adam Green‘s slasher flick sequel, Hatchet II, and now an undying (fittingly) discussion is becoming all the more heated.

If you’re at all familiar movie ratings systems, you’re likely aware that the MPAA heads it all up and has been the source of much controversy over the years. Multitudes of films have struggled to get their movie down from an R rating to a PG-13, while many others have been forced to cut and trim crucial content just to find a way to reach an R rating down from the feared NC-17.

See, the problem with the system is that if this stuffy group of people who run the MPAA decide to pin your movie with an NC-17 rating, it’s not able to go into wide release because most theaters won’t touch them. This leaves you only the choice of releasing an NC-17 or unrated product in a limited amount of theaters, and that’s why you hear so much about movies having to cut down and earn that R. In a perfect world, any movie short of X-rated could be shown in most theaters, and those who are responsible for preventing minors from seeing them would do their jobs and ensure it. As it is, people can’t handle that overwhelming responsibility, and this is the way of the movie-going world.
