| Ben Affleck’s Rumored Wish To No Longer Play Batman May Come True
There comes a point in time where we have to ask ourselves if there’s going to be any good news about Ben Affleck and The Batman. Since Affleck joined the DCEU, he’s been in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, both were marred by negative reviews for a variety of reasons. Then there was the pressure to direct a great Batman film, which he took himself out of. So while Matt Reeves taking the helm may be a sigh of relief, there’s still the rumor of Affleck wanting out of his obligation to star as the Caped Crusader as well. Now there’s word that the at execs at WB are working on a deal to make that happen, but in a graceful manner. More on the story below.

| Matt Reeves Talks Emotional Batman Story, ‘Planet Of The Apes’ Caesar Comparison, Christopher Nolan
Cloverfield and Let Me In director Matt Reeves recently talked about the latest Batman standalone movie, currently known as The Batman. Reeves came on board to direct after Ben Affleck, who also stars, opted out of his directorial duties. Reeves, who also helmed this month’s War for the Planet of the Apes and its predecessor Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, says he wants to tell an emotional Batman story. He also compared the legendary comic book character to Caesar in the Apes movies (played by Andy Serkis), and talked about what he liked about Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan’s work.

| ‘The Batman’ Will Be A Noir Detective DC Film
Batman goes by many names, but none as intellectually imposing as The World’s Greatest Detective. Sure he may have gizmos and gadgets at his disposal, and a lot of it helps him discover clues about the criminal underworld. But we really haven’t seen a film where those same detective skills are at the forefront of the character. However, it appears that director Matt Reeves wants to bring a noir style to the world of The Batman.
