All I really want to do is grab people and shake them forcefully while screaming “Why haven’t you read him yet?” But I hear that is illegal in some places…*sigh* This go around he is writing with his son Geno Salvatore, which has yielded some excellent results in the past. Dungeons & Dragons: Cutter #1 is the first in a five-issue series that centers around a sword that has been around for a while, passing from warrior to warrior. But Cutter is no ordinary blade, not by a long stretch (see what I did there? It’s a longsword!). It’s Drow name is Khazid’hea and its true nature is that of death and destruction. For you see, this sword is sentient in the most malevolent of ways, it’s only goal is to be wielded by the finest warrior. Having first appeared in Salvatore’s Starless Night, we have seen it alter its own appearance to entice warriors to claim it as their own. From a weapons master in the Underdark to Drizz’t Do’Urden to Cattie-Brie and so on…this sword has been seeking its perfect match. Is it finally coming to pass? Only time will tell as this miniseries breathes more life into the sword’s story and that of the Drow family that currently possesses it.

| First Look At ‘Marvel Zombies Christmas Carol’ |
|
Marvel will be launching a new five-issue miniseries in May called Marvel Zombies Christmas Carol. That’s right you read it correctly, it’s Zombies in the Marvel Universe, retelling the classic Charles Dickens story. Artist David Baldeon and writer Jim McCann are teaming up to bring this story to life. Apparently they plan on telling something more horrific than silly like you might expect from a Marvel Zombies story. “When we started working on this idea, I was amazed at how well the original text worked in with the concept of the undead. We’ve taken a way to introduce ‘zombies’ in a Victorian manner, keeping with the chilling tale Dickens crafted in the 1800s,” said writer Jim McCann. “I think that David’s amazing designs show you how well it will look. We aren’t going for campiness or shoving zombies into a popular story, but for true Victorian horror…and a small glimmer of hope that lies in one man’s cold heart: Scrooge!”

| Conversations with GoD: ‘Halloween Man’ Writer Drew Edwards |
|
Geeks of Doom had the chance to ask Drew Edwards, creator and writer of the indie comic Halloween Man, some questions about his work, how he got there, and where things may be going! For those unfamiliar with the title, Halloween Man began as a webcomic about a regular dude named Solomon who becomes a V8 for a hungry vampire. Instead of death, a wizard named Morlack decides to channel the monster movies on TV into him, making him completely immortal, but very zombie-like, needing too feed on some flesh as often as he can. Thankfully his girlfriend is into the wild and crazy, so being undead, having half a deformed face and a purely skeletal arm happens to be alright with her. He also has an enchanted shovel to do battle with and his buddies Nickodemis and Man-Goat to keep him company! And now, the universe of Halloween Man will crossover into the world of Devil’s Due’s Hack/Slash with Hack/Slash vs Halloween Man, Part 1 of which available now in jpg or pdf formats, and eventually as part of a printed trade paperback collection. If you’re into comics, be sure to check it out, and for all your artists out there, there’s still time to enter the Halloween Man contest (details below).
