Last week on Outlander, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) found a purpose at last with help from Master Raymond (Dominique Pinon). She started volunteering at the charity hospital, proving her worth and knowledge to Mother Hildegarde (Frances de la Tour). Jamie (Sam Heughan) was none too happy, as he needed his wife to talk through the muck of intrigue in the court of Paris. Prince Charles (Andrew Gower) found his funding to Jamie’s distress. He hired a boy, Fergus (Romann Berrux), to steal correspondence so he could copy it and have the boy put it back. Claire realized that Frank (Tobias Menzies) was a descendent of Mary Hawkins (Rosie Day) and Black Jack. Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) told her she had to tell Jamie that Randall was still alive.

She a 1940s war nurse, happily married to her historian husband, Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) on a trip to Scotland. There, some mysterious stones suck Claire into 1743, where she is almost captured by Black Jack Randall, Frank’s sinister distant relation, and is saved by Jamie Fraser, whom she nurses back to health.Claire must now learn a simpler way of life, plus marry Jamie for protection. They fall completely in love. Jamie saves Claire from being burned as a witch, and Claire rescues Jamie from rape and torture at Wentworth prison (although a bit late to prevent that) at the hands of Randall. Starz Outlander Official Trailer

Pretty much 5 minutes after Starz announced the Outlander season 2 premiere date of April 9th, they released the official trailer to everyone. I know April 9th seems too far away to wait for our favorite time-crossed couple, the hunky James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser and his ethereal beautiful wife, Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser (Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe), but I know (as all Outlander fans do), that the season based on Dragonfly In Amber, Diana Galbadon’s second novel in the series is almost better than (if not as good as) the first.

Check out the official trailer below.

It is the season 1 finale of Outlander, the epic tale of Claire Elizabeth Beauchamp Randall Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) and James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser (Sam Heughan). Outlander, based on the Diana Galbadon series, really translated from the page to the screen, in ways that went beyond any expectations.

Sing me a song of a lass that is gone,
Say, could that lass be I
Merry of soul she sailed on a day
Over the sea to Skye

Starz was really smart in grabbing this series. There’s tons more material, and these two leads are perfect. Do not continue if you have not watched the finale. There are spoilers!
