Part of the excitement for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes from the fact that the spinoff film will focus on the untold story of a band of rebels who go on a daring mission to steal plans to the Death Star. Ahead of the release of tomorrow’s trailer, Disney has dropped the latest poster for the film showing the band of rebels, led by Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones); Stormtroopers storming a beach; and a shadowy Darth Vader, whose face hides on the surface of the Death Star.
Does this tell us what we will see in trailer tomorrow? Check out the full poster below.

Michael Giacchino Replaces Alexandre Desplat To Score ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’

It’s not as though Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is not used to changes. This past summer, the Star Wars spinoff went through a series of reshoots, with Tony Gilroy providing much of the rewrites to the script. At the time, the film had already completed principal photography, and rumors of 40% of the film were quickly shot down. While reshoots are just a part of any blockbuster tentpole, it has had a bit of a negative impact. In the wake of these reshoots, Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat will no longer be composing the score for the film. But all is not lost as he will be replaced by another Oscar-winning composer, and one who is familiar with Disney and science fiction. A new report says Michael Giacchino will now conduct the score for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’: Familiar Looking Droid Revealed
![Rogue One Droid Header Rogue One Droid Header](https://i0.wp.com/www.geeksofdoom.com/GoD/img/2016/09/rogue-one-droid-header-530x265.jpg?resize=530%2C265&ssl=1)
Droids are an essential part of the Star Wars saga, and I am not sure if that universe could actually function without them. Now with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story being one of the first of the standalone stories to explore the universe outside the saga, it’s going to be exciting to see the new characters that will be joining the expansive universe.
We already got a small look at the characters of Rogue One just a few months back, and confirmation that Darth Vader would make an appearance in the film as well. One of those new characters that stand out is the towering droid K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), and it appears he won’t be the only new droid out in the film. In fact, he will be joined by another droid that looks vaguely familiar. More on the story, as well as a video and image, below.

These reports on studios ordering reshoots seems to be more of a cautionary tale not because there are issues with the original director’s cut, but the fact that studio interference might cause more problems despite their good intentions to deliver an entertaining product. Those reshoots for Suicide Squad may have proven to be disastrous, we don’t know, we haven’t seen the movie, but based on critics’ reactions those reshoots may have done more harm than good. So when reports of reshoots for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story were reported, there wasn’t any immediate concern because we would normally treat reshoots as something that was already planned in advance.
Now there are reports that uncredited writer Tony Gilroy (The Bourne Legacy, Michael Clayton) has been tapped to help the editing process with director Gareth Edwards adding his input. Whether or not his vision will stay intact or they are just saying he is on board because the studio wants to avoid a conflict with the DGA remains to be seen. But Rogue One‘s behind-the-scenes drama doesn’t seem to be over quite yet. More on the story below.
