Pennywise Stephen King's IT

If the look of the new movie adaptation of Stephen King’s IT isn’t quite doing it for you and you’d prefer to stick with the 1990 TV miniseries adaptation starring Tim Curry as Pennywise the clown, a new documentary is on the way you’ll be interested in learning about.

The documentary is titled Pennywise: The Story of IT, and aims to dig into the story behind the TV miniseries’ creation. The makers of the doc have obtained over two hours of previously unseen behind-the-scenes footage for the project, and have already set up over 20 interview guests, including the great Tim Curry himself.

Read more about the project and check out the pitch video below.

Behind the Mask Sequel Comic Before the Mask Header Image

We’ve been hearing about a sequel to the 2006 indie horror Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon since 2009, but the project has struggled to find a path to our eyes. Earlier this year the sequel—or “spreemake” as they’re calling it, described as “a mash-up of a sequel, prequel, and remake, that will deconstruct and comment on the archetypes of prequels, sequels and remakes” by director Scott Glosserman—which is titled Before the Mask: The Return of Leslie Vernon was once again teased, but some things need to go right before it can happen.

The first step is telling the story of the spreemake in an eight-issue comic, which is an adaptation of the movie’s script. An Indiegogo campaign has been launched for the project, and it serves two purposes: proving that fans actually want more Leslie Vernon, and providing a visual representation of the story they want to tell in the follow-up movie without actually making the movie.

You can read more about the crowdfunding campaign below.

Midichlorians. The Trade Federation. Watto. The coarseness of sand. Jar-Jar freakin’ Binks. Oh, and you can’t forget”¦. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!”

George LucasStar Wars prequels comprise what is possibly the most controversial motion picture trilogy of all time. Despite grossing hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office and selling countless DVD and Blu-ray copies, Episodes I through III remain a serious bone of contention for ferociously devoted fans of the Star Wars universe for many reasons.

Bradley Weatherholt‘s Indiegogo-funded documentary The Prequels Strike Back: A Fan’s Journey provides — through a series of insightful and provocative interviews with open-minded admirers of the films and their thematic elements and links to the original trilogy –- a pointed critical analysis of the prequel trilogy’s multitude of perceived narrative and technical flaws. Rather than serve as the set-up for a rude, feature-length rebuttal of the faults that have fueled many a furious blog post or chatroom discussion, detractors of these unjustly-derided intergalactic adventures to look at those faults once more, but placed in different contexts and interpreted through a series of unbiased points-of-view.

In 1986, German film producer Bernd Eichinger (The Neverending Story) purchased the motion picture rights to Marvel Comics’ first family of bickering cosmic superheroes, the Fantastic Four. Eichinger envisioned making a classy, big-budget adventure with funding from a major studio and the latest in cutting edge visual effects, but no studio was interested. He had until New Year’s Eve 1992 to get the film into production or his rights would revert back to Marvel.

Indiegogo Spotlight: ‘The Order’ Movie From Former ‘Power Rangers’ Stars

The Order Movie Indiegogo Cover

The 1st season of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers aired when I was in 1st grade, 22 years ago. For years, I made sure to watch each new iteration of the team, enamored by the colorful suits, the martial arts action, and the fact that young people were entrusted with saving the world.

I haven’t watched a new season of Power Rangers in quite some time, but I do, however, follow many of the actors on social media — and for the past month or so, some interesting things have occurred. First, many of the original cast and others changed their Facebook profile images to an intriguing symbol. Next, they began posting cryptic messages and videos, hinting at some sort of joint project. Finally, just last week, the group (including 18 former Power Ranger actors), launched a crowdfunding campaign for a film called The Order. Oh, nostalgia, you’ve made your way back to me.

I recently had the opportunity to interview some of the cast about the project and I’m really excited to share it with you all. You can find that and more below.
