Price: $3.99 Welcome back! Part three of Ryan North‘s BMO virus arc in Adventure Time the comic series continues at a moderate pace. Let’s catch you up. In Adventure Time #11 Marceline, Finn and Jake are invited by BMO to play Super Guts Punch 3 inside his “MAIN BRAIN GAME FRAME.” They play and win only to discover that BMO has been hacked. Adventure Time #12 is sidetracked by an unannounced visit from Lumpy Space Princess(a character I think is best in *very* small doses). Elsewhere, the team decides to track down the evil wizard Ewlbo who has hacked their friend, BMO. They formulate a plan to have another Awesome Wizard Battle and use it to suss out the culprit. (Check out animated series episode Wizard Battle to see what happened the first time that…well…wizards battled in Ooo.) Each character’s way to interview the wizards of Ooo is as unique and amusing as their poster drawings advertising the ruse battle. Their plan is a bust but BMO continues to spazz out from his operating system being hacked. He eventually leads the trio to a bunker where other hacked robots in Ooo have gathered.

Cartoon Network
Release date: September 27, 2011 I know a lot of people who are fans of Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time, and it seems to be one of the network’s most popular shows these days, but for whatever reason I never really gave it a shot. There was just something about the style of the show that kept me away for whatever reason. However, when the chance came to review the first DVD release of the show I took a shot, even only to see if the people recommending it to me were full of it. Having watched some of it now, I can understand why some people like it; I just don’t know if I’m as sold on it as they are.

| SDCC 2011: Cartoon Network’s ‘Adventure Time’ Comes To Comic-Con (Photos) |
|
Adventure Time, the hit cartoon from the brilliant mind of Pendleton Ward, has come to San Diego Comic-Con International 2011 in full force. Not only has Cartoon Network rented out a pizza parlor in downtown San Diego to promote Adventure Time, but they’ve also paid more than two dozen boyish-looking dudes to dress up like the show’s main [human] character Finn (Jeremy Shada). (Yet, I’ve only spotted one real-life Jake (John DiMaggio a.k.a the voice of wise cracking robot Bender on Futurama), the shape-shifting yellow dog who is also Finn’s best friend — as shown in the images below.) For those who have absolutely no idea why this is so amusing to myself and several others, let me explain. Adventure Time is a cartoon about a boy and his magical best friend dog and the awesome adventures they have in the mystical Land of Ooo. Mostly, these adventures consist of saving princesses and fighting heinous villain types like the Ice King. There are plenty of talking pastries, a Rainicorn (Rainbow Unicorn), and tons of guest celebrity voices like Henry Rollins, Mark Hamill, George Takei, Lou Ferrigno, and Erik Estrada.
