| Geek Art: The Beatles In Lord Of The Rings In ‘Moria Road’
Believe it or not, there was a time when The Beatles wanted to star in a live-action adaptation of Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, with Stanley Kubrick to direct. The cast would be Paul McCartney as Frodo Baggins, Ringo Starr as Sam Gamgee (both as hobbits), George Harrison as the wizard Gandalf, and John Lennon as the creature Gollum, but either Kubrick wasn’t on board for it or Tolkien killed it (it’s unclear which). Obviously, that would have been an interesting project that unfortunately we’ll never get to see. But artist Shane Parker has decided to give us his depiction of what the Beatles in the LoTR could have looked like with his Abbey Road-LoTR mash-up “Moria Road.”

Abbey Road Crossing, which is outside the Abbey Road Studios where the 1969 album was recorded, is already a tourist attraction that thousands of people flock to each year to recreate the famous image.

| Best Movie Ever? The Beatles To Become Zombies In ‘Paul Is Undead’ |
 |

Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher of Double Feature Films have optioned a feature film adaptation of Paul is Undead: The British Zombie Invasion, the mash-up novel from author Alan Goldsher. The novel tells one of the currently-popular alternate history stories where zombies and monsters and vampires and aliens are used as an added special ingredient to classic old stories or even to the lives of celebrities and historical figures. This began with Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and has gone as far as the recent announcement of the Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov collaboration on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. In Goldsher’s tale, John Lennon is turned into a zombie while still a young child in 1940 England. As time goes on, he grows into an incredibly talented musician who kills and re-animates Paul McCartney and George Harrison before adding “Drummer/Seventh Level Ninja Lord” Ringo Starr to the group, creating and amazing and talented band of (mostly) zombie musicians called The Beatles, who go set off to share their music with millions of adoring fans…some of which they eat. Eventually, however, they must face two deadly foes: 1.) Feared zombie-hunter Mick Jagger. 2.) Eight Level Ninja Lord Yoko Ono, who replaces their spiritual mentor and causes the band’s bond to falter.

Elwes is the best known of the bunch with his roles in movies like The Princess Bride and Robin Hood: Men in Tights; he would be voicing George Harrison. Peter Serafinowicz isn’t a household name here in the States, but you may know him better than you think. He’s very popular overseas and has appeared as Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s flatmate in Shaun of the Dead, as well as on the popular series Spaced. Serafinowicz would be handling the voice of Paul McCartney. Lennox Kelly would be appearing as John Lennon in the film, and has appeared in The Secret Life of Words as well as popular shows Doctor Who and Robin Hood. Finally, Campbell would be voicing Ringo Starr; he appeared in the recent TV show Harper’s Island, and is looking to find more forgiveness for previous roles in the hated Epic Movie and Date Movie.
