Each and every week “I’m on a Boat” MK2Fac3 and “Like a Boss” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of January 11, 2012. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. Ahoy, there mateys. Are you ready, kids? I can’t hear you. Okay, now I can here you. This week, Captain MK2Fac3 is too busy skippering the USS Rough Service, but he sent me a message in a bottle with his picks for the week. Meanwhile, I’m stuck on a deserted island, and I have figured out why the Professor had such a problem fixing the boat when the only materials at hand were coconuts, palm fronds, and a collection of hicks, bimbos, non-functional alcoholics, and a crew that got their license from the Nebraska School of Oceanography. I was going to send this week’s list in by Aldis lamp, but it turns out blinking lights do not translate well to the internet and my lawyers told me there was a risk of seizures, so I strapped myself to a couple of sea turtles and found my way back to the mainland. Anyway, enough talk of that cruel mistress of the sea; let’s get to the books.

| The GoD List: Comics For April 20, 2011 |
Each week, MK2Fac3 and Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull list, grab some issues and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of April 20, 2011. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. This week is kind of slow, so Henchman21 is flying solo. Henchman21 ISSUES Deadpoolmax #7 (of 12) (Marvel/Max – $3.99) If you had told me a year ago that a Deadpool book would be one of my favorite titles, I would have said you were crazy, but David Lapham and Kyle Baker‘s Deadpoolmax has made me a believer. Everything that readers love about Deadpool is here, it’s just cranked up. Add to it Baker’s unique art style, and you get a crazy, entertaining book that I can’t get enough of. X-Factor #218 (Marvel – $2.99) I was talking to someone at last year’s New York Comic-Con, and they said they were looking for a socially relevant comic and didn’t know if there was one, and the first book I told them about was X-Factor. Writer Peter David uses each issue to tackle a wide variety of modern subjects, while still telling fun adventure stories with a cast of characters I have come to love. If I had a complaint about the book it is that it can’t hold onto a regular artist to save its life, but the series has maintained such a high story quality that I forgive it.

Fans of Marvel’s X-Men line have a lot to be excited about after the panel held Friday at San Diego Comic-Con. The big announcement of the panel was an image showing Magento’s return in a storyline titled “Nation X.” The story begins in September, and will run in the pages of Uncanny X-Men. Writer Matt Fraction said that this storyline will be used to make the X-Men a more cohesive line, and that the story has been building up since at least issue #500. The other big news is an upcoming crossover between X-Force, New Mutants, and X-Men Legacy, which will be titled Necrosha and will deal with Selene bringing back a number of dead mutants and attacking the teams. Other pieces of news from the panel include: There will be an unexpected ending to the Dark Avengers/X-Men: Utopia miniseries. Issue 50 of X-Factor will bring the current year long story to a close. Writer Peter David also said that readers should expect the current romance between Madrox and Layla Miller will cool off, and says that he always wants the characters the take two steps back for every one step forward when it comes to relationships. He also said that readers would see some big developments with Strong Guy, and also that he would get into Shatterstar’s parents, especially with Longshot being on the team. There was also a comment made that seemed to say that Rahne may be back in the pages of X-Factor.
