Metal Hammer is a Rock/Metal Magazine available here in the UK. It is the only decent monthly magazine (next to Classic Rock) that reports on the goings-on in the Rock world.
This magazine, albeit monthly, shits all over other piss-poor-weekly-magazines available around the world (Not naming any names or hating their current EMO fascination – Kerrang!).
Very recently [month – August, issue 168] the Mag featured the fifth annual ‘Golden Gods Awards’.

Yeah Kerrang really hasn’t got anything on this magazine at all.
Kerrang has gone Pro-Emo for some gog-forsaken reason, a shame really as it used to be a decent magazine.

Back in the 80s, the best metal mags all came from Europe. The indie record store I frequented (called Zig Zag Records) would get copies of Kerrang and Metal Hammer. Normally, I’d grab MH as well as Metal Forces, which I think was the best of the them all.
Here in the states we were stuck with the likes of Circus (ack!) and Hit Parader.
