In my Indiana Jones links extravaganza the other day, I included the link to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
trade paperback comic book adaptation from Dark Horse Publishers.
The Dark Horse press release has been updated to include the cover image! (See image here at right; click for larger view). It includes Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones and an interestingly posed Shia LaBeouf (does that pose look familiar or what?).
I thought there was a way on Amazon to update product photos, and I’ve tried to do it for this book (because absentee images on products annoy me!!!), but I can’t see to do it. DH needs to get their butt in gear and update it on Amazon.
Thankfully, the book comes out on May 25, 2008, three days after the film’s release. Why do I say “thankfully”? Because if it came out before the movie (like most comic book adaptations annoyingly do!!!), I’d buy it, then be tempted to browse. No browsing!
The paperback comic book adaptation is credited as written by George Lucas, David Koepp, John Jackson Miller, but I’m willing to bet Miller wrote the comic while Lucas and Koepp will get a story credit since they wrote the story and screenplay, respectively, for the film (hey, maybe if we get a chance to “Search Inside” on Amazon, we can look at the credit page and see if I’m right). Pencils are by Luke Ross; inks by Fabio Laguna; and colors by Dan Jackson.
UPDATE 1/3/07: This is not the final cover, but a “solicitation only” cover for now. Solicitation only art by Steve Anderson.
I want this ASAP!!!
