The Movie God   |  @   |

Monsters vs. AliensSome brand new goodies have been released on the upcoming Dreamworks Ultimate 3-D animated film, Monsters vs. Aliens, including plot details, images, and a cast that will blow your mind.

Click the images to see them in their large and glorious forms (one here at right; the other below).

The movie seems to be a great mixture of Hollywood monster and alien movies. A hybrid, if you will — only animated and in Ultimate 3-D! See the detailed synopsis below for all the juicy details of the story.

This epic cast includes so many names that theaters may have to up ticket prices! Names like Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde, Walk the Line), Hugh Laurie (House), Will Arnett (SNL, The Brothers Solomon), Seth Rogen (Knocked Up, Superbad), Rainn Wilson (The Office, Juno), Stephen Colbert (The Colbert Report), Kiefer Sutherland (24, The Lost Boys), and Paul Rudd (Anchorman, The 40-Year-Old Virgin).

How crazy is that lineup? I guess it’s no surprise though, most animated features usually put together a nice little ensemble!

Monsters vs. Aliens will be directed by Rob Letterman
(Shark Tale) and Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2). It’s being produced by Lisa Stewart (I Think I Love My Wife) and co-produced by Jill Hopper and Latifa Ouaou.

The movie is set for release on March 27, 2009.

Official Synopsis

When California girl Susan Murphy is unexpectedly clobbered by a meteor full of outer space gunk, she mysteriously grows to 49 feet, 11 inches tall and is instantly labeled a “monster” named Ginormica. The military jumps into action, and she is captured and held in a secret government compound. The world learns that the military has been quietly rounding up other monsters over the years. This ragtag group consists of the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.; the macho half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link; the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B.; and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus. Their confinement time is cut short however, when a mysterious alien robot lands on Earth and begins storming the country.

As a last resort, under the guidance of General W.R. Monger (on a desperate order from The President), the motley crew of Monsters is called into action to combat the aliens and save the world from imminent destruction.
