A new movie adaptation of the classic animated series The Flintstones is being developed by Warner Brothers with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay executive producing through their Gary Sanchez Productions.

Unlike the 1994 live-action movie adaptation that starred John Goodman, Elizabeth Perkins, Rick Moranis, and Rosie O’Donnell, this new take will be a feature-length animated adaptation.

The Flintstones follows a family living in the town of Bedrock during the Stone Age.

Chris Henchy, who’s a partner of Ferrell and McKay at Gary Sanchez and who worked on the screenplays for The Other Guys and The Campaign, will pen the script.
