Jamie Lee Curtis, who made a name for herself as the ultimate scream queen in John Carpenter’s 1978 classic slasher film Halloween, will return to her iconic role as Laurie Strode in a sequel from Trancas International Films, Miramax, and Blumhouse Productions.
Check out the first look at Curtis in the upcoming film, which is confusingly titled simply Halloween.
Curtis took to her Twitter account this afternoon to say, “Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween. Release date 10/19/18.”
Earlier this year, we learned that director David Gordon Green and actor Danny McBride — from stoner comedy Pineapple Express — would be writing the screenplay for a new Halloween movie, with Green set to direct.
For the film, John Carpenter will be a creative consultant and executive producer, while Jason Blum will produce.
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Universal Pictures will release the new movie, which is said to be a direct sequel to 1981’s Halloween II, which also starred Curtis, on October 19, 2018.
