French actor Gaspard Ulliel has been cast as a young Hannibal Lecter in the ridiculously titled prequel “Young Hannibal: Behind the Mask.”
The film, due out later this year, explores the origins of Hannibal the Cannibal. “It’s the early cannibalism; he starts to discover the dark side of him and starts to enjoy the killing,” Ulliel tells Entertainment Tonight. “You understand why he became like this.”
Rhys Ifans (“Notting Hill”) is the only recognizable name in the cast. The film is being directed by Peter Webber with a screenplay by Thomas Harris.
A movie surely to rank with “Psycho 4” and “Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3”! Couldn’t they just CGI a younger face on Anthony Hopkins?

They have finally gone too far. I am serious I could barely sit through Hannibal. I also hated that book. Hollywood should stop trying to force this crap on us.

Gaspard is a great Actor. Give him a chance, damn. -__-
And Harris is writing the screenplay. I have a good feeling about this.
