Marvel Super Heroes Make Science Fun!

Empress Eve   |  @   |

The stars of the Marvel universe will come to virtual life this month when the California Science Center in Los Angeles hosts the Marvel Super Heroes Science Exhibition.

The exhibit, which opens March 26, will explain how modern-day science and technology contribute to the super abilities and genetic composition of comic-book favorites such as the web-slinging Spider-Man and his multi-apendaged nemesis Doc Ock.

Fifty Marvel superheroes and villains will be showcased at more than 30 interactive action stations where visitors can probe the Incredible Hulk’s brain to explore how rage fuels his strength, or watch how motion-induced blindness makes the Invisible Woman disappear, or discover how lightning is created then used to defeat a villain in the Storm kiosk.

Also included in the showing, which runs through September 4, will be a collection of popular Marvel artwork, an exclusive video interview with creator Stan Lee, and a timeline that delves into the history of Marvel, investigating how the story lines correspond with world history, politics, culture, and, of course, the possibilities of science.
