The nerdcore hip hop artist kicks off U.S. tour for new album.
Nerdcore hip hop artist MC Frontalot has just come out with a new album, Nerdcore Rising!
If the free track, "Secrets From the Future"—a song about how laughably quaint our current data encryption schemes will seem in the future—is a good indicator, the album as a whole kicks ass. With lyrics ranging from witty ("some day I’ll be both revered and passé, like Madonna") to silly ("now it’s time for a little braggadocio / while I swing my arms like Ralph Macchio") to flat-out nerdy ("You can’t hide secrets from the future with math / You can try, but I bet that in the future they laugh / at the half-assed schemes and algorithms amassed / to enforce cryptographs in the past"), there’s plenty in the Frontalot canon to dig into.
What’s more, he’s got a heap of freely downloadable MP3s, and even a few song remix kits, if you’re so inclined.
Check out his Web site, frontalot.com, for U.S. tour dates, schwag, lyrics, videos, and all kinds of good shit.
You can buy the CD from Frontalot direct or from Amazon.
Related: two nerdcore documentary films, Nerdcore Rising and Nerdcore For Life.
